Geoff's Custom Canvas & Upholstery

Geoff's Custom Canvas only uses Dynaproofed Outback® Rugged Canvas which is proudly produced in Australia to meet the most severe of weather conditions. The Outback Rugged composition provides assurance for the most demanding applications such as Camper Trailers on 4WD adventures. To enjoy the maximum life and durability that this fabric offers, a few simple “housekeeping” hints will give you years of excellent service and satisfaction.

Care Instructions

New canvas should be thoroughly wet before use and allowed to dry. Repeat 2 – 3 times to ensure sealing up of the seams, this will eliminate the possibility that some leakage may occur on initial exposure to rain.
During exposure to the elements we recommend a periodic hose down with plenty of water and using a soft brush to loosen off any atmospheric fallout / pollution. DO NOT SCRUB, gently rub only.
Clean only with cold water and a brush – do not use soap or detergent as it will break down the wax emulsions that provide the waterproof protection. It is the horizontal roof surfaces that suffer most from pollution above and rising humidity from within so give this section the most attention when cleaning. Be sure organic and vegetable matter (eg. grass and dirt etc.) and bird droppings particularly are not left in contact with the canvas for any prolonged period.
Ensure product is completely dry prior to storage.
Do not store canvas products on concrete floor.
Do not expose to petrol, oil or solvents
If signs of mildew ever appear, brush it off before it becomes attached.
If mildew persists it can be treated with diluted bleach (Lemon White King), say one (1) part bleach to five (5) parts water. Once dry, allow approximately a further twelve (12) hours then thoroughly hose off and again allow to dry completely before then applying WC REPROOF®.
Restore well used products with REPROOF® every 12 months.
